 Glass Promo Pic-  Source: Reuters
Google has unveiled new details about its much-anticipated 'tech specs'. In a video posted by Google, the smart glasses, dubbed Google Glass, are shown in action.

Those keen on getting their hands on a pair of the voice-activated glasses are shown how they work, with the interface seen through the wearer's line of sight, in the video entitled, How it Feels (through Glass).

Taking photos and recording video footage, as well as making video calls, translating foreign languages and searching for maps and information are all made to look very easy in the hands-free world of the Google Glass.

The video, shown from the perspective of a wearer, depicts users making the most of the new device while taking part in extreme sports, performing on stage and sight-seeing. Google co-founder Sergey Brin was recently spotted on New York's subway testing the device.

Traffic - An Interesting Trouble!!!

The Interesting part about traffic:
"Every person complains about traffic despite the fact that he himself is also one of the reasons behind it"

The below cartoon is an epic. It just resembles exactly what I wanted to say!

I have taken this cartoon from: http://www.businesstravellogue.com . Thnx!

So, Stop complaining..
First.. please be a respnsible citizen..!!!
Please use public transport as far as possible!!!

10 MAIN OBSTACLES TO FREE FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN INDIA:-

  • Wrong Parking and parking place conversion.
  • Encroachments on footpaths / roads.
  • Poor traffic infrastructure like signals, roads, signages, junctions etc.
  • Bottlenecks – both natural and religious.
  • VIP movement.
  • Road cutting by Government agencies / no restoration.
  • Dharnas, processions etc on roads.
  • 3500 RTC buses / 70,000 autos parking – indiscipline.
  • Lack of any budget to Traffic Department to take up Traffic Improvement measures.
  • Manpower shortage in Traffic Department.

Some simple things for us to "remember and follow" while driving:
  • Keep on your left, allowing the vehicles from the opposite direction to pass.
  • Give way to traffic on your right, especially at road junctions and round abouts.
  • Always use a helmet if on a two-wheeler and always check that the strap is fixed properly.
  • While turning either left or right, give way to vehicles going straight.
  • While turning left, keep to the left side and turn close to the left side of the road to which you enter.
  • Slow down at the junctions, intersections and pedestrian crossings, school zones, temple areas etc.,
  • Give signals before you make any manoeuvre, indicating your intention, so that the other road users can adjust accordingly.
  • At junctions, do not block the free lefts
  • In case traffic jams, be patient. Do not cross the median and block the opposite lane.
  • Stick to the given speed limit and remember that speed limit is related to the traffic condition.
  • Keep enough distance from the vehicle ahead to avoid collision.
  • Yellow lines should not be crossed under any condition.
  • At junctions or intersections, never park the vehicle beyond the stop line.
  • At pedestrian crossings always remember that the pedestrian has the right of way.
  • Overtake only from the right side of a vehicle. Never overtake on bridges, narrow roads, junctions, school zones and pedestrian crossings.
  • At the signal, do not stop your vehicle on the Pedestrian Crossing.
  • Two-wheelers are meant only for two. Third person is not allowed, even children.
  • Do not move your vehicle on the amber light. Wait for the light to turn green.
  • Do not drive in a zig-zag manner.
  • Do not honk and create noise pollution .
  • Do not spit on the roads.

The missing 11 days of september

Have you ever checked the September month of 1752?
==>
source: http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/monthly.html?year=1752&month=9

Did You Notice: After the 2nd, the calendar skips to the 14th of September !!!

Wonder Why?
Actually,
The British used to follow the Julian Calendar. The Julian Calendar was based on the solar year with a leap year for every four years. But it had an error rate of 3 extra days for every four centuries.

On the other hand, the Gregorian Calendar doesn't count it as a leap year if the year was directly divisible by 100, except if it was directly divisible by 400. It was more accurate with an error rate of just 1 day for every 3,300 years.

So, Britain decided to abandon the Julian calendar in favour of the gregorian calendar. For this reason, the date after 2nd September had to be shipped directly to 14th September.

Whatever may be the reason, this month stands as the most interesting month in the history of the British calendar for me ;)
